us: Assistant Professor of Physics & Astronomy [100% | Duties: Each faculty member teaches at all levels of the curriculum and is active in original research in fields such as radio astronomy; computational general relativity; infrared spectroscopy; magnetic materials; energy use in buildings; atomic and molecular physics, nonlinear optics; relativity for non-scientists, and theoretical physics. Support staff includes an electronics specialist, a machinist, and a computing specialist. In addition to teaching courses in both physics and astronomy (4.5 courses per year), the incumbent will establish an active research program involving students; laboratory space and start-up funds will be provided | Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. degree in astrophysics, physics, astronomy or related fields (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2017-18). Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellent undergraduate teaching and mentored research.
