The main interests in the MFGS are the mechanisms and regulation of host responses and pathogenesis during malaria infections. Projects in the MFGS utilize genetic/genomic, immunological, and molecular biological approaches to study host genes in various signaling pathways and to identify parasite genes that cause various disease phenotypes (virulence).
