Postdoctoral Fellow Positions in Neurochemistry - Shock, Trauma and Anesthesiology

The neurochemistry laboratory at the Shock, Trauma and Anesthesiology Research Center is currently in search of two post-doctoral candidates. The selected candidate(s) will be responsible for performing the studies using rodent and swine animal models in a laboratory setting. One project is to study the systemic inflammation and organ tissue protection in rat and swine animal models of Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA). Another project will use mouse and rat brain ischemia and stroke models to investigate pathophysiological mechanisms of neuronal cell death and the development of neuroprotective treatments. The programs are highly interdisciplinary, utilizing animal surgery, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and quantitative histological analysis.
Candidates with animal surgical skills and experience are preferred. Salary Range will be commensurate with education and experience.
