Position Description: A post-doctoral position is available to investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying allergic sensitization through the airway. Current approaches include using recombinase-based, genetic intersectional strategies, transcriptional profiling, and confocal microscopy to assign specific functions to individual dendritic cell, macrophage, and epithelial cell subsets in the lung. Additional areas of interest include molecular pathways associated with distinct endotypes and phenotypes of asthma, long term immune and epigenetic consequences of exposures to allergens during early life, and how molecular crosstalk among individual cell types coordinates immune responses to inhaled allergens. Additional information can be found at http://www.niehs.nih.gov/research/atniehs/labs/iidl/pi/immuno-gen/
Requirements: Applicants should hold an MD, or a PhD in immunology, molecular biology, or a related field, and have no more than five years of previous postdoctoral experience. Expertise in flow cytometry is preferred, but is not essential.
