Postdoc researcher in the area of 4D Patient-specific Modelling with applications in the fields of cardiology and orthopaedics
imec-Vision Lab is a research group of the physics department at the University of Antwerp. The Vision Lab has unique expertise in the quantitative biomedical imaging (magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography), remote sensing, and shape modelling. The working environment is strongly interdisciplinary, combining techniques and insights from Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. The group has a broad range of national and international collaborations with both academic and industrial partners.
The involved industrial and academic partners together with imec-Vision Lab aim to create a 4D patient-specific modelling platform for evaluation and customization of medical devices in the cardiac and orthopaedic field. Within this project, Vision Lab focusses on the development of techniques for building 4D statistical models from dynamic 3D image (CT/US) and surface data for a patient population and the use of these models for deriving accurate patient-specific models from medical scans. Creating the envisioned technology platform will steer the future of health services towards a more reliable patient care.
