You teach various course units in the discipline of informatics; on bachelor level (programming in C# and Matlab) and on master level (computer architecture en parallel programming). In addition to lectures, activating didactic methods are also explored: practicals, demonstrations, guided exercises and group work. You supervise bachelor’s and master's theses. Education is predominantly given in Dutch, except for some master courses that are taught in English. The teaching assignment can evolve according to needs and changes.
You conduct research in the discipline of informatics for embedded systems. This research line is situated in the research group “Reconfigurable Architectures, Parallel Processing and Telecommunications Oriented Research (Rapptorlab)” and contributes to the mission of the research lab. Excellence, innovation and relevance for education and societal valorization are key issues.
Your research targets processors and computer architectures for embedded systems, explores performance models and integrates AI-techniques into embedded systems.
You are actively involved in the department of Industrial Sciences (INDI) by taking responsibility in the organization of the lab, participation to events and meetings, ...
You build up a scientific collaboration with the ETRO department and integrate your research in the activities of ETRO.

As a formal minimum requirement, applicants must a hold a PhD in Engineering Sciences, awarded on the basis of an original thesis.
