A post-doctoral position is available to study the regulation and impact of modified nucleosides on mRNA splicing and translation. The laboratory is interested in the role of DNA methylation in co-transcriptional pre-mRNA splicing, as well as the influence of RNA modifications on post-transcriptional mRNA function with a focus on mRNA decay and translation. Projects in the laboratory are highly integrated and utilize a variety of approaches ranging from the biochemical to genome/transcriptome-wide profiling. While candidates with a wide range of expertise will be considered, applicants with a background in bioinformatics/computational biology are especially encouraged to apply. Expertise in the analysis of RNA-sequencing data for splicing patterns, particularly from single cell and/or long-read single molecule (nanopore) data, is especially preferred.
Candidates must be strongly motivated, possess a Ph.D. or equivalent and have no more than one year of post-doctoral experience. Successful applicants should have a strong theoretical background in gene regulation and RNA biology.
