The successful applicant will use bioinformatics approaches to analyze in-house and publically available next-generation sequence data, RNA splicing and DNA methylation data to identify patterns of disease causality, with the goal of utilizing molecular, biochemical, and cellular approaches to functionally validate predictions in selected genes-of-interest. Access to extensive core facilities including cores in bioinformatics, microarrays, copy number analysis, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and a transgenic mouse core, offers the trainee wide latitude in the design and pursuit of their research questions. Career development opportunities are extensive and aimed at developing candidates into well rounded, independent investigators ready for future advancement. Programs are made available through the NHGRI Intramural Training Office and the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education.
