Postdoctoral Positions in Structural BiologyPosted by: National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Posted date: 2018-Oct-26
Postdoctoral positions are available at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland
The research laboratory of Dr. Niraj Tolia (http://tolialab.wustl.edu/whoweare.html) is a growing team recently relocated to NIH that is seeking applicants for multiple postdoctoral positions. The successful candidate will conduct structural and biophysical studies of malaria host-pathogen and antibody-antigen complexes. The individual will structurally define neutralizing antibody epitopes in key malaria antigens and will assist in the study of the human antibody respond to malaria. In addition, the individual will determine the structure of host-pathogen and vector-parasite complexes required for malaria parasite viability. The structures of these complexes will enhance our understanding on the interactions that facilitate our effort to design effective vaccines.Qualifications:
Successful candidates should have a strong background in X-ray crystallography, biophysics, protein expression and protein purification. Previous experience with antibody-antigen complexes, cryo-EM and bio-layer interferometry is a plus, but not required. To Apply:
Candidates should address their application to Dr. Niraj Tolia, and submit their (1) CV and bibliography, (2) a cover letter stating research interest, (3) and three letters of references to Maria Conner at maria.connernih.gov.
