Mosquito-Malaria ResearchPosted by: National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Posted date: 2018-Dec-19
A postdoctoral position is available in the Mosquito Immunity and Vector Competence Section (Barillas-Mury Lab), Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research/NIAID/NIH, to study the role of cellular immunity in mosquito responses to infection with Plasmodium parasites. The Barillas-Mury Section takes a broad and multidisciplinary approach to investigate the complex biology of mosquito-Plasmodium interactions that affect malaria transmission. Our ultimate goal is to unravel cellular and molecular determinants of malaria transmission by anopheline mosquitoes and prevent human disease.
The position is currently for 2 years with the possibility to extend for longer period based on performance and available funds. We are seeking individuals with experience in cellular and molecular biology, immunology, vector biology, or related disciplines. A strong background in immunology, insect immunity and/or vector biology research is highly desirable.Qualifications:
