The Diabetes Research Center and the Protein/Peptide Laboratory, both of Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School) are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to be part of an interdisciplinary project focused on developing novel insulin receptor agonist peptides for diabetes treatment. The project will focus on designing, synthesizing and characterizing various peptides and further investigating their properties with in vitro and in vivo studies. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Post-doctoral Fellow at the Harvard Medical School. This is a 2-year contract position, and further extension will depend on individual’s performance and dedication to the project, and upon continued funding.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The new hire will drive forward a collaborative research project to synthesize and characterize insulin receptor agonist peptides with unique properties and to test the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties in vitro and in vivo using animal models.
