Doctoral Grant (BOF), Hybrid turbulence models and uncertainty quantifications for improved CFD modelling of urban environments - 2019BAPDOCPROEX196Posted by: University of Antwerp
Posted date: 2019-Jul-18
The Faculty of Science is seeking to fill a full-time (100%) vacancy in the Department of Bioscience Engineering for a
Doctoral Grant by the University Research Fund (BOF) in the area of Hybrid turbulence models and uncertainty quantifications for improved CFD modelling of urban environments
The department Bioscience Engineering investigates the impact and mitigation of air pollution (industrial emissions, indoor and outdoor air). The intended doctoral research focuses on problems in urban CFD models with regard to their accuracy and computational costs. Hybrid RANS / LES methods will be optimized specifically for urban CFD models by combining them with recent CFD methods. Uncertainty quantifications will also be carried out to identify unknown relevant sources of uncertainty so far. Future urban CFD models can be improved with this knowledge.
