A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Drazen Raucher’s lab at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Raucher’s research group is focused on developing a thermally responsive polypeptide-based vector for delivery of therapeutic peptides and conventional chemotherapeutics. The current project is focused on validating our approach in an animal model of pancreatic cancer. This position will be responsible for investigating anti-cancer compounds in cancer cell lines and tumor animal models.
The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and employs the latest molecular, biochemical and cell biology technologies. The Medical Center and the UMMC Cancer Institute provide access to numerous top-of the line core facilities. The institute aims to maintain a highly collaborative and friendly working atmosphere and highly competitive research programs.
The city of Jackson offers the advantages of a metropolitan city combined with a highly developed suburban area with excellent schools and a low cost of living.Qualifications:
The applicant must hold a Ph.D. (or be in final stages of receiving the Ph.D.) in cell biology, molecular biology, tumor biology, or a related field. The applicant must possess experience in some, or preferably all, of the following: ability to conduct independent in vitro and in vivo experiments, experience with tumor animal models and testing of pharmaceutical compounds.To Apply:
