Integrative Genomics-Based Investigation of Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Melanoma PredispositionPosted by: National Institutes of Health (NIH)Posted date: 2019-Sep-06
Location: USA
Position Description:
The Laboratory of Translational Genomics, Division of Cancer Epidemiology & Genetics (DCEG), of the National Cancer Institute, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with experience in bioinformatics and genomics. The main interest of our laboratory is genetic predisposition to melanoma, with an emphasis on functional characterization of common and rare risk variants identified by genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and sequencing-based approaches. The prospective fellow will be engaged in projects integrating genomic and epigenomic datasets (including RNA-seq, methylation, ChIP-seq, Hi-C, and high-throughput phenotypic assays) with GWAS data for melanoma and melanoma-related traits with a goal of elucidating molecular mechanisms underlying melanoma risk, as well as more broadly cis-gene regulation in melanocytes and melanomas. The prospective fellow will have the opportunity to work closely with researchers with expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, and genetics, and will have extensive career development training opportunities through the DCEG Office of Education. Qualifications:Applicants with a doctoral degree in genetics/genomics, bioinformatics, epidemiology, or related field are encouraged to apply. Experience in analyses genomic sequencing data, GWAS, and or melanoma is a plus. To Apply:See the Division Fellowship Information for an overview, qualifications, and application details. Go to http://dceg.cancer.gov/ and click on Fellowships & Training. For more details on this opportunity, please contact: Kevin M. Brown, Senior Investigator; Email: kevin.brown3 This position is subject to a background investigation. The NIH is dedicated to building a diverse community in its training and employment programs. |
