The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Dr. Tushir-Singh’s Laboratory of Novel Biologics to study Antibody Therapeutics in Cancer. The laboratory’s research is highly translational and is focused on generating “moon shot” efforts to find a cure for cancer.
Dr. Tushir-Singh’s laboratory has broad interest in Immune checkpoint regulators, Receptor-Target Biology, Antibody engineering, Antibody-conjugates, Cell signaling and Cancer biology. The Lab utilizes DNA/protein engineering-based approaches supported by functional testing to evaluate and develop better technologies directed toward generating clinically effective antibodies in the cancer immunotherapy space.
Postdoctoral employment is temporary and is normally limited to an individual who has been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within the previous five years and who will be involved in full-time research or scholarship at the University. Employment as a Postdoctoral Research Associate is viewed as training and is preparatory for a full-time academic or research career, is supervised by a senior scholar, and allows the appointee to publish the results of their research or scholarship during the training period.Responsibilities:
To support our current ongoing activities, we are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with experience in Immunology, T-cell Biology and immune activation studies. Qualified candidates must have experience with flow cytometry and animal handling.
