Postdoctoral position available to use CRISPR-screens to study T follicular helper cells and/or cytotoxic T cell function with an emphasis on signaling pathways in T (and B) lymphocytes and how they regulate normal immune cell development and function. We take a multidisciplinary approach using molecular genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, imaging and genomics, coupled with studies of infectious disease and immunization, to examine the functions of signaling molecules in T and B lymphocytes and how they affect immune responses. Approaches include use of CRISPR-mediated gene disruption screens to uncover new pathways affecting function of murine T and B lymphocytes including studies of T follicular helper cells, T cell signaling and adhesion, and CD8 T cell responses to viral infection (and tumors). We complement this work with studies of T cells from patients with primary immunodeficiencies, focusing on responses to immunization and understanding the mechanisms leading to cellular dysfunction in disease. Our overall goals are to provide insight into how T lymphocytes help orchestrate responses to infection and immunization.
We are looking for bright, motivated and interactive scientists with a recent PhD and/or MD and a strong background in molecular biology and/or immunology. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be helpful: genomics, bioinformatics, immunology, cellular and molecular biology, mouse genetics, biochemistry, imaging, and/or infectious diseases. Candidates must have less than 4 years postdoctoral experience.To Apply:
