The Ramamurthi lab in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology in the National Cancer Institute studies cell growth, differentiation, and division in bacterial model systems (mainly Bacillus subtilis and the human pathogen Staphylococcus aureus). The lab uses a variety of approaches, including classical genetics and biochemistry, epifluorescence and super-resolution microscopy, biophysical assays, and computational strategies to understand how proteins localize and assemble within a cell. Several projects are currently available, and we are always open to new ideas.
