The Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical, and Veterinary Sciences is seeking to hire a full-time Ph.D. student. As a Ph.D. student, you will be part of a team of dedicated scientists with a common goal of developing new therapies for heart failure—a common and deadly disease. The specific project for this Ph.D. position involves the study of the pathophysiology of heart failure and the development of small-molecule therapies for heart failure and fibrosis. You will get the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques, and develop yourself as an independent scientist—in a high-level laboratory. You will be closely supervised and supported by Vincent Segers and Gilles De Keulenaer, two enthusiastic and established physician-scientists.
