The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is seeking Postdoctoral Fellow to support the Undersea Medicine Department (UMD) located at the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC). HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to UMD. US Citizenship is required for this position.
The incumbent will be responsible for research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff within the Undersea Medicine Department (UMD) at Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC). Exercises technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of scientific methods. Performance of complex laboratory procedures. Ability to meet project deadlines. Good communication and analytical skills.
Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 0 – 5 years of research experience.
Physical Capabilities: Requires long periods of sitting and standing. Handling of various chemicals. Handling of research animals (rodents and swine).
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides guidance to lower-level laboratory staff.
Work Environment: Laboratory and office environments.
Background/Security: U.S. citizenship required; eligible to obtain and maintain a Tier III Investigation/Secret Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
