Posted date: 2020-Apr-02
As part of its dynamic research policy and supported by the possibilities offered by the Flemish Government through the resources of the Special Research Fund (BOF-Methusalem), the Faculty of Law is seeking to fill a vacancy for a full-time
Postdoc Research in the area of digitalisation and taxation
For four years, the assignment will consist of scientific research within the research objectives of the Centre of Excellence DigiTax (www.ata-digitax.com). In particular, research should be carried out on the impact of the digital economy and the new business models on the essential characteristics of the current taxation model (including the allocation of tax competences, the levy technique, etc.) and of possible new taxes. This research question requires a horizontal approach taking into account not only the most important existing direct and indirect taxes but also new taxes (such as Google tax or robot tax). On the other hand, the assignment also requires collaboration with the predoctoral researchers of DigiTax. Building on the existing research results, scientific research needs to be conducted into the consequences of the use of new technologies, including blockchain technology, by the tax administration. Finally, the postdoc researcher will have the additional responsibility of ensuring proper transfer of the built-up knowledge to a next generation of researchers.
The previous condition is an eligibility condition.
