Doctoral student in a FWO-funded project that focuses on drug exposure prediction in neonates
The aim of the I-PREDICT project is to predict and evaluate the impact of cooling on disposition of medicines in asphyxiated neonates. Therefore, an innovative physiology-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) framework will be developed by integrating in vitro, in vivo animal, in silico and clinical research approaches. This project is part of part of an interdisciplinary collaboration between the University of Antwerp (Prof. Steven Van Cruchten), KULeuven (Prof. Pieter Annaert, Prof. Karel Allegaert), UZ Leuven (Prof. Anne Smits) and the proteomics core of the KU Leuven Biomedical Sciences group (SyBioMa, Dr. Sebastien Carpentier). The PhD position at UAntwerp is focused on the in vitro and in vivo animal approaches.
